Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for an Interim Director of Pharmacy to lead pharmacy services at a hospital facility in Montana. This contract role requires taking on the PIC (Pharmacist in Charge) responsibilities, providing strong leadership and oversight to a focused pharmacy team.
Location:
Great Falls, MT Schedule:
Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM No weekend or on-call coverage required
Core Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee daily pharmacy operations and team members (typically 2-3 pharmacists). Provide strategic leadership to stabilize and guide the pharmacy department during the interim period. Lead ongoing projects such as clean room renovation, Medi-tech IT system enhancements, and financial analysis related to the infusion center. Ensure compliance with all applicable pharmacy regulations and standards. Collaborate closely with outpatient clinics and surgical hospital departments to support integrated patient care.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid Montana pharmacist license is required. Proven hospital pharmacy management experience, ideally with exposure to outpatient and surgical hospital pharmacy environments. Demonstrated leadership capabilities to effectively manage a small but critical pharmacy team. Strong project management skills with a focus on operational improvements and systems adaptation. High professionalism and commitment to maintaining a stable, efficient pharmacy service.
Automation System:
Experience with Touchpoint technology preferred to ensure smooth workflow integration. This role is available immediately and expected to continue for approximately three months or until the permanent position is filled.
