The Director of Pharmacy and Clinical Services leads the Company's clinical pharmacists and pharmacy staff in managing the department's daily operations. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining workers' compensation prescription drug programs and strategies, designing safe and cost-effective pharmacy solutions, expanding clinical services, and providing clinical data and interpretations using various analytic tools.
Specific duties include:
Designs clinical pharmacy programs to address industry trends, including opioid utilization, topical products, physician dispensing, and brands with generic alternatives Develops and manages workers' compensation drug formularies and pricing tailored to the specific needs of customers and in accordance with jurisdictional rules and fee schedules Maintains drug screening program by reviewing inconsistent drug test results and consulting with prescribers regarding claimants' medication regimens Delivers clinical pharmacy reviews that evaluate clinical documentation, assesses drug therapy and medical history, and recommends interventions to optimize medication regimens Identifies out-of-network prescription fills and organizes outreach to educate claimants on how to effectively use their pharmacy benefits for safe and appropriate medication therapy Provides clinical guidance to existing customers in collaboration with National Account Managers and assists with implementations for new customers Supports sales efforts in responding to requests for proposals, projecting costs, and presenting at finalist opportunities Supervises clinical services team of pharmacists and representatives and provides training to support medication monitoring, home delivery conversion, and network integrity projects Oversees the pharmacy billing process, reviews compound medication pricing, and audits invoices for accuracy and compliance Generates and analyzes scheduled and ad hoc reports using SQL to monitor drug utilization and control waste, duplication, abuse, and misuse Creates social media content and authors blog posts detailing recent drug news and trends Responds to clinical questions and escalations and assists customer service representatives with rejections and inquiries from claimants, adjusters, pharmacies, and prescribers Performs staff evaluations and training

$93,085.52 - $112,103.00 per year
