The Clinical Pharmacy Manager is responsible for the leadership, coordination, and advancement of clinical pharmacy services within the inpatient setting. This role provides oversight of daily clinical pharmacy operations while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, and patient-centered pharmaceutical care. The manager serves as a key liaison between pharmacy, medical staff, nursing, and hospital leadership to optimize medication use processes and improve patient outcomes. This position maintains a balanced focus on both clinical practice and administrative responsibilities, including pharmacist supervision, workflow optimization, policy development, and regulatory compliance. The Clinical Pharmacy Manager is accountable for developing and implementing clinical programs, promoting pharmacy initiatives, supporting interdisciplinary collaboration, and ensuring adherence to organizational, state, and federal standards. The manager, in conjunction with the Director of Pharmacy, is responsible for the leadership, coordination, and oversight of medication management committees and programs related to medication use, safety, and quality. This includes formulary management, policy review, antimicrobial stewardship efforts, and facilitation of evidence-based decision-making to support optimal patient outcomes and regulatory compliance. In addition, this role provides leadership and direction for the pharmacy residency program, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, supporting preceptors, and fostering a robust learning environment for pharmacy residents. Additionally, the manager fosters professional development of pharmacy staff, supports residency and educational programs, and drives continuous quality improvement efforts aligned with organizational goals. This role plays a critical part in advancing clinical pharmacy services, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring excellence in inpatient pharmaceutical care delivery.
Education:
Post Graduate Certificate PharmD required.
Additional Education Requirements:
Completion of a PGY-1 Clinical Residency program or equivalent experience required
