Bonus Potential Summary/Objective The Director of Outpatient Pharmacy is responsible for the overall operations, financial performance, and strategic growth of all outpatient pharmacy services, including retail pharmacy locations, specialty pharmacies, and outpatient infusion clinics. This role will ensure operational excellence, patient-centered care, and alignment with organizational goals. The Director of Outpatient Pharmacy must support the mission of providing Sacred Work to all who enter the doors of Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas. Essential Job Duties Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Provides administrative and daily operational oversight for outpatient infusion clinics, specialty pharmacy services, and retail pharmacy locations. Oversees all outpatient pharmacy personnel. Develops standardized workflows, optimizes staffing and resource utilization, improves patient access, and enhances clinical outcomes while maintaining exceptional customer service. Directs the health system's 340B Drug Pricing Program by ensuring regulatory compliance, maximizing program savings, maintaining audit readiness, overseeing contract pharmacy relationships, and implementing strategies that optimize financial performance while supporting patient care initiatives. Evaluates pharmacy revenue, reimbursement trends, operating margins, and key financial indicators across all outpatient pharmacy service lines. Identifies opportunities to increase revenue, improve reimbursement capture, expand service offerings, and develop business strategies that support sustainable growth and organizational objectives. Maintains compliance with all applicable federal, state, and accreditation standards, including requirements established by state boards of pharmacy, CMS, USP chapters, payer contracts, and other regulatory agencies. Leads quality improvement initiatives, risk mitigation efforts, and continuous readiness for inspections and audits. Identifies, evaluates, and implements new outpatient pharmacy services, partnerships, and business opportunities that expand market presence and improve patient access. Collaborates with physicians, health system leadership, finance, nursing, and operational teams to support ambulatory care initiatives, specialty pharmacy expansion, infusion services, and integrated pharmacy care across the continuum. Actively participates in hospital/departmental committees and projects. Assists the Administrative Director of Pharmacy with development and management of operations and strategic planning goals and objectives that are consistent with the hospital budget goals and metrics. Assumes the responsibilities of the pharmacy department in the absence of the Administrative Director of Pharmacy. Required Education and Experience Graduate of accredited College of Pharmacy and 1-3 years of related experience. Required License/Certifications Licensed by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy and IV Certification
