Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract This interim leadership role requires an experienced Pharmacy Director with proven management and inpatient acute care expertise to oversee pharmacy operations in a hospital setting. Located in Nacogdoches, TX, this contract assignment begins August 3rd and extends for at least three months, providing critical administrative and leadership coverage Monday through Friday during day shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage daily pharmacy operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to regulatory standards Serve as the designated Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), overseeing compliance, quality patient care, and staff performance Coordinate pharmacy in-services and ongoing staff education initiatives Collaborate with clinical and support team members to foster a unified, efficient work environment Handle administrative duties including staffing decisions and departmental leadership Utilize Cerner/Siemens order entry system and manage site automation with Omnicell technology
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active Texas pharmacist license with eligibility to serve as PIC Prior inpatient acute care pharmacy experience with management or director-level responsibilities Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in hospital pharmacy settings Excellent leadership and communication skills to guide and motivate pharmacy staff effectively
Work Schedule and Environment:
Monday through Friday, day shift, 40 hours per week No weekend or on-call duties required Business casual dress code Staff includes 1 clinical pharmacist, 4 PRN pharmacists, 5 full-time certified pharmacy technicians, and 3 PRN certified pharmacy technicians This contract opportunity offers a vital role in maintaining high-quality pharmacy services within an acute care hospital environment.
