In this vital role, you will assist licensed pharmacists in preparing, dispensing, and managing medications across various pharmacy settings. Duties Prepare and dispense medications accurately, including sterile IV infusions and compounded medications, following aseptic techniques and sterile compounding procedures. Manage medication inventory, perform data entry into pharmacy software systems, and maintain precise records of medication orders and patient information. Assist with medication intake, verify prescriptions for accuracy, and ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws. Support clinical pharmacy services by understanding pharmacological terminology, drug regulation standards, and hospital or community pharmacy protocols. Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, explaining medication instructions, and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Ensure pharmaceutical regulatory compliance by adhering to medical terminology standards, drug regulation policies, and hospital or community pharmacy guidelines. Collaborate with healthcare professionals in acute care or hospital settings to support medication administration and IV compounding processes. Experience Prior pharmacy technician experience in LTC (Long-Term Care), critical care, clinical pharmacy, community pharmacy, or hospital environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, drug regulation standards, and medical terminology required for accurate medication preparation. Experience with pharmacy software systems for data entry, inventory management, and documentation is essential. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is a plus; ongoing training in pharmaceutical regulatory compliance and aseptic techniques is advantageous. Proven ability to maintain patient confidentiality while adhering to state healthcare regulations and federal laws governing pharmacy practice. Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient care, medication safety, and effective communication within fast-paced healthcare settings.
