$16-$19 per hour, based on experience and qualifications About the Position 1st Choice Pharmacy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Non-Sterile Compounding Technician to join our compounding pharmacy team. This position is ideal for an experienced pharmacy technician who enjoys hands-on pharmaceutical preparation and wants to develop or expand their skills in non-sterile compounding . The technician will work closely with pharmacists and other compounding staff to prepare patient-specific medications while following established formulations, procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements. The primary focus of this position will be the preparation of capsules, rapid-dissolve tablets (RDTs), and topical creams , along with other non-sterile compounded dosage forms as needed. Key Responsibilities Accurately compound patient-specific non-sterile medications under pharmacist supervision. Prepare capsules using appropriate equipment, formulations, and procedures. Prepare rapid-dissolve tablets (RDTs) according to established formulas and procedures. Compound topical creams, ointments, and other dermatological preparations . Accurately weigh, measure, triturate, mix, encapsulate, and otherwise process ingredients according to established procedures. Follow master formulation records, compounding procedures, and pharmacist instructions precisely. Perform appropriate in-process checks to ensure the quality, consistency, and appearance of compounded preparations. Properly label, package, and stage completed compounded medications. Maintain accurate documentation for every compounded preparation. Follow USP 795 standards and pharmacy policies applicable to non-sterile compounding. Maintain a clean, organized, and properly sanitized compounding workspace. Properly clean and maintain compounding equipment and work areas. Monitor ingredient inventory and communicate supply needs to management. Assist with receiving, organizing, and maintaining compounding chemicals, powders, capsules, bases, and other supplies. Identify and immediately report discrepancies, formulation concerns, equipment issues, or potential quality problems to the pharmacist. Follow all pharmacy safety, compliance, and quality-control procedures. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements. Assist with other pharmacy duties as needed. Preferred Qualifications Pharmacy technician experience in a compounding pharmacy. Previous non-sterile compounding experience strongly preferred . Experience preparing capsules, RDTs, creams, ointments, or other compounded dosage forms is highly desirable. Familiarity with balances, capsule machines, mortars and pestles, ointment mills, mixers, and other compounding equipment. Knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, measurements, and dosage forms. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to follow written formulations and procedures precisely. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a pharmacy team. Florida Pharmacy Technician Registration required. National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred but not required. Compounding certification or formal compounding training is a plus. Compounding requires considerably more attention to detail than simply filling prescriptions. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with small quantities of ingredients, following formulas exactly, documenting their work, and stopping to ask questions when something does not look or feel right.

Pay:
