Part Time Position Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Operations float pharmacy technician is responsible for performing a variety of complex technical skills and functions in the preparation of chemotherapeutic and other hazardous and nonhazardous agents. To carry out the assignments of this position, the technician must possess first-rate techniques in sterile product preparation, a thorough understanding of the principles of biological safety cabinets, and a knowledge base of antineoplastic/cytotoxic agents including the precautions needed in the handling of these products, the ability to travel throughout the state of Florida and flexibility to stay overnight if needed for multiple days. Pharmacy Technicians are expected to maintain a high degree of accurate productivity and performance while being extremely sensitive to the specific contribution of total patient care. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the ordering and inventory of medications, clinical supplies, and act as liaison between Physicians, Nursing, Pharmacy Supervisor and Procurement in obtaining special order medications.
Position Qualifications/Requirements Education :
High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
Previous Experience :
Minimum of 6 months experience in the pharmacy field, in a clinical setting as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred. IV sterile compounding experience is preferred. PTCB Certification or Florida Registered as Pharmacy Technician is required. Medical terminology and attention to detail is desirable. Fluency in the English language as well as strong communication skills to interact with a wide variety of personalities. Must be willing to travel occasionally to educational and research meetings as well as training sessions. Valid Florida Driver's License for travel to clinics is required

Certifications/Licenses :
