Certified Pharmacy Technician Job Summary:
We are seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The technician will assist pharmacists in preparing medications, managing pharmacy operations, and providing quality service to patients. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and effective communication with patients and healthcare providers. Fluency in Spanish is considered a valuable skill for assisting Spanish-speaking patients and ensuring clear communication. The position offers an opportunity for professional growth within a supportive environment focused on patient safety and high-quality pharmaceutical care.
Responsibilities:
Enter medication data accurately into pharmacy software systems while maintaining patient confidentiality. Manage medication inventory by verifying stock levels, ordering supplies, and ensuring proper storage according to regulatory standards. Perform pharmaceutical calculations for dosages, conversions, and preparations to ensure safe medication administration. Follow all state and federal pharmacy laws, regulations, and medical terminology standards during daily operations. Assist patients by answering medication-related questions, supporting medication administration procedures, and contributing to patient care initiatives across various healthcare settings.
Qualifications:
Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician from an accredited program; active registration or licensure as required by state regulations. Knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, drug regulation compliance, sterile compounding techniques, and aseptic procedures. Experience with pharmacy software systems for data entry, medication tracking, and inventory management. Proficiency in medical terminology related to pharmacology. Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient care and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced environment while following safety protocols.
Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 40.0 per week
