We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician who brings a dependable work ethic and a warm, positive greeting attitude to our pharmacy team. You will be the first point of contact for our patients. Your primary goals are to provide welcoming customer service, accurately prepare prescriptions, and maintain a highly reliable attendance record to support smooth daily operations.
Summary of essential job functions:
RECEPTION
Provide essential customer service. Greet and assist patients with products and prescriptions. Complete sales orders for patients. Review and relay prescription information upon request. Bag and file prescriptions in appropriate destination. Check-in pharmacy orders. Accept prescription orders from doctor's offices except when prohibited by laws.
DATA ENTRY
Record, compile, and maintain patient's demographic information. Record, compile, and maintain patient's medical information. Document patient treatment information. Record, compile, and maintain patient's insurance information. Record, compile, and maintain product and prescription information. Comply with HIPAA and Medicare regulations.
PREPARE AND DISPENSE MEDICATIONS
Process refills and new prescriptions according to prescription orders. Calculate days supply and proper dosing information. Count, label and package prescriptions according to prescription orders and/or pharmacist instructions. Prepare medication solutions according to prescription orders and/or pharmacist instructions. Process specialty orders (i.e. DME, Compounding, UPS, etc.) Follow pharmacy laws and regulations.
ORDERING
Generate, review and send electronic and manual orders. Prepare product returns. Prepare expired products to return.
REPORTING
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports. Submit reports to appropriate staff. Run and distribute monthly sales and inventory reports. Acknowledge and process recalls.
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
Ensure proper inventory levels for store. Process product rotation and return to stock procedures. Ordering, shipping schedules and confirms delivery. Follow corporate policy on purchasing procedures. Coordinate transfers between locations. Coordinate and perform physical inventory according to company policy. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Computer and electronic knowledge.
Mathematics:
Arithmetic, Algebra, and Geometry. Medical and dental terminology recommended. Clerical and administrative knowledge. SKILLS Customer and personal service skills. Data entry skills. Actively listen and respond with patients, co-workers, and medical staff. Reading comprehension. Process thinking in a critical manner.
ABILITIES
Communicate professionally either verbally and/or written. Ability to stand for four hour periods between breaks. Ability to lift a fifty pound maximum. Educational requirements A State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician licensure either full or temporary (continued employment conditional upon the completion of the requirements). PTCB or EXCPT certification highly recommended, but not required.'
