Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Certified Pharmacy Tech (CPhT), you'll help our patients feel better by providing safe and effective medications to them. You'll help our doctors and nurses feel better knowing that you are providing accurate and timely medication to patients.
Every day, you'll build trust by being extremely thorough and accurate at all times. Patient safety is your top priority, so you do everything you can to ensure all prescriptions are authentic, prepared correctly both in medication type and dosing, and are dispensed appropriately, under the Pharmacist's guidance. To be successful in this role, you follow all safety protocols, including those intended to prevent infection, and you keep a clean work area at all times. You are eager to learn or help out in any way needed to keep the pharmacy running smoothly and get our patients their medications. Assists pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care including but not limited to the preparation, filling and distribution of medications including outpatient hospice prescriptions, screening phone call/orders and alerting pharmacists to patient specific data Pre-packaging and labeling of tablets, capsules and liquids into unit of use preparations Works with an automated dispensing system including stocking of controlled and non-controlled substances while maintaining adequate levels of stock Prepares IV admixtures under the supervision of a pharmacist including but not limited to
TPN/PPN, IV
piggybacks, IV syringes and other infusions while following guidelines of USP 797 (aids in maintaining inventory of IV products, stocking of products, cleaning of equipment and labeling of products) Delivers medications to respective units and performs audits/inspections of medication storage areas, including crash carts Maintains certification and competency required in accordance with all regulatory and local requirements Job Requirements Required High School Graduate or GED Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician Program At least one year of experience as a certified pharmacy technician
