Job Summary:
As am infusion pharmacy technician, you ensure patient safety by accurately preparing patient medications. Your efficiency in managing inventory and processing prescriptions allows pharmacists to focus on patient care. By providing excellent customer service and medication guidance, you enhance patient satisfaction and adherence to treatment plans.
Key Position Details:
1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period) 8-hour day shifts (8:30am-5:00pm) On-call rotation (approx. every 5th weekend and rotating holidays) Meet our Care Team members:
Pharmacy Technician Job Description:
Guides patients to appropriate home infusion and home care services. Optimizes access to Allina programs and serves the Allina hospital and clinic partners by assessing patient referrals. Develops relationships with community referral sources. Principle Responsibilities Coordinates referrals on behalf of the patient Receives calls from internal and external customers, and provides resources to guide patients to appropriate resources (e.g. provider referrals, non-provider referrals, home services, community resources). Establishes strong relationships with referral partners, including Hospital Physicians and Social Workers, Clinic Physicians and Care Coordinators. Provides initial consultation for home infusion and home care. Identifies service options by utilizing clinical expertise and guidelines, regulations, reimbursement issues and agency protocol. Informs patients and families of the scope and limitations of a service and payer source. Provides phone support to system hospitals on complex patients. Serves as a resource for Home Infusion Liaison, Social worker, and discharge planner on options for care after hospital discharge. Documents in Electronic Health Record (EHR) and communicate with patients, families, providers, and care team to maintain coordination of care. Transitions, coordinates, and supports patient through stages of care. Financial Vitality Assures referral meets applicable reimbursement criteria, and regulatory compliance is maintained. Meets and exceeds growth targets. Reports information to determine eligibility for admission. Serves as a resource for patients, providers, and staff on health plans, Allina networks, and third party and governmental payers related to Homecare, Hospice and Palliative Care. Informs patient of health plan eligibility outcome and advise patients on plan and program requirements. Communicates with patients, families, providers, and care team to maintain coordination of care. Proficient use of Electronic Health Record and other electronic tools for data gathering and communication to patients Documents in EHR according to department procedures and workflows. Utilizes standard epic tools and smartphrases. Provides relevant and timely updates to the care team according to department guidelines. Exceptional Customer Service Responds to internal and external customer calls and service inquiries in an informed and professional manner. Ensures all requests for service are processed accurately. Seeks opportunities for efficiencies and process improvements. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies 0-2 years experience as a Pharmacy Technician Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED Vocational or Technical Training from an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited pharmacy technician training program 2 to 5 years experience as a Pharmacy Technician with experience using data systems and/or direct patient care team support 2 to 5 years experience in customer service, care coordination, working with insurance, health care or community based role Licenses/Certifications Registered Pharmacy Technician - MN Board of Pharmacy required upon hire Certified Pharmacy Technician - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board required within 180 Days (NHA or PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) or Pharmacy Intern required

Lifting weight up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently
Pay Range Pay Range:
$23.22 to $31.83 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
