Job Description

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Performs the duties of Pharmacy Intern as prescribed by state and federal statutes, as well as Samaritan Health Services policies. Prepares and dispenses medication, assesses clinical status of patients (neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics). Educates and counsels patients regarding medication therapies under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Performs a broad range of technical and clinical support functions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Samaritan Pharmacy Services is a community pharmacy located in a multidisciplinary ambulatory clinic in Corvallis. The pharmacy is open to any member of the public. The primary role of this pharmacy is to dispense community patient prescriptions. They also offer immunizations, medication management services, and specialty medications. The pharmacy is staffed by experienced pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who are dedicated to patient care.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
Current unencumbered Oregon Board of Pharmacy Intern license required. Successful completion of first year PharmD school required. Must remain student in good standing with an accredited pharmacy school until graduation. All job offers are contingent upon the candidate passing a pre-employment/post offer drug screen. Healthcare Provider Level BLS required within 90 days of hire.
