Job Duties and Preferred Qualifications :
Virginia Beach EMS aims to provide the highest quality of pre-hospital emergency patient care, education, and rescue services that preserve life, reduce suffering, and promote the safety of the people in our community. There are more than 500 certified providers, both volunteer and career, who respond to more than 58,000 emergency calls on a yearly basis. Join this exemplary and dedicated team! Performance Standards Coordinates with clinical staff Assists in maintaining appropriate levels of pharmaceutical supplies. Effectively communicates with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrate ability to perform all pharmacy technician duties in accordance with all applicable law and regulations. Maintains accurate and up to date records. Manages resources efficiently. Prepares for and participates in inspections. Must maintain a current Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration in good standing for the duration of employment in the position. Preferred Qualifications Current National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) in good standing. Advanced Pharmacy Technician certification or specialized inventory management experience. Experience in retail, hospital, emergency department, EMS, military, or public safety pharmacy operations. Experience managing controlled substances and medication inventory systems. Knowledge of prehospital emergency medical services operations. Critical Criteria 1. Documented Experience Performing Medication Inventory Maintenance Tasks (e.g., monitoring expirations, rotating stock, handling recalls, or conducting audits) 2. Clear Evidence of Collaboration with Pharmacists, Clinical Staff, or Cross‑Functional Operational Teams Please complete the application in its entirety and include your resume.
High school diploma or GED plus completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program. Minimum of two (2) years' experience as a Pharmacy Technician utilizing the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must have and maintain a current Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration in good standing. Must have a current and valid driver's license.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.

E VRS Contribution :
All full-time employees are required to contribute 5% of annual salary toward their retirement account; in accordance with VRS retirement provisions. This will be handled through a pre-tax payroll deduction.
