Phlebotomist - Outpatient - As Needed
Job Description
Perform venipunctures and fingersticks using established procedures. Verify patient identity using approved protocols before specimen collection. Label, process, and handle specimens accurately to maintain specimen integrity. Communicate clearly and professionally with patients and team members. Answer patient questions and provide exceptional customer service. Follow all patient safety standards, policies, and regulatory requirements. Maintain inventory and supplies in collection areas. Support a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. Report safety concerns and take appropriate action to reduce risk. Complete required documentation accurately and timely. Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy, Medical Assistant, EMT, or Military Medic program. Completion of one of the above training programs or one year of recent phlebotomy experience. Phlebotomy, Medical Assistant, or EMT certification preferred. Current BLS certification required in accordance with organizational policy. Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for positions requiring travel between locations. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with patients of all ages. Knowledge of specimen collection techniques and laboratory procedures. Understanding of medical terminology preferred. Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
