Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision, adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols Collect, process, label, and handle specimens accurately for laboratory testing, ensuring proper specimen collection and handling procedures Maintain detailed documentation of specimen collection, patient information, and test orders within electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems Provide compassionate patient care by explaining procedures clearly, addressing patient concerns, and ensuring comfort during specimen collection Monitor vital signs and assess patient physiology when necessary, especially in geriatric and pediatric populations Follow laboratory procedures diligently to ensure specimen integrity and prevent contamination or errors Assist with laboratory techniques such as specimen processing, data entry, and quality control measures to support accurate testing results Qualifications Proven experience in medical laboratory work or clinical settings with a focus on phlebotomy and specimen collection Knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and safety standards including aseptic technique and blood sampling protocols Certification or training in phlebotomy, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), and Basic Life Support (BLS) is highly preferred Familiarity with medical office environments, EMR/EHR systems, and data entry processes Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology principles, and clinical laboratory practices Ability to lift heavy objects safely when handling supplies or specimens; physical stamina required for standing or walking for extended periods Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care across diverse populations Embark on a rewarding career where your skills help save lives!
