Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Full-Time Rehabilitation Physical Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team at Release Manual Therapy, located in Newburgh, New York. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in guiding patients through their recovery journey, helping them regain mobility, strength, and confidence after surgery, illness, or injury. About the Organization Release Manual Therapy is a leading provider of rehabilitation services, specializing in personalized manual therapy practices that foster significant recovery outcomes for patients in a skilled nursing environment. Our facility is known for its patient-centric approach, where our team collaborates closely to ensure optimal care and rehabilitation experiences. Work Environment This role will be based onsite at our state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Center in Newburgh, New York. You will collaborate with a supportive team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nursing staff, and occupational therapists, all dedicated to providing the highest quality of care. The full-time schedule runs from Monday to Friday, with work hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Key Responsibilities Design and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to the specific needs and goals of each patient, using evidence-based practices. Incorporate a variety of therapeutic exercises, functional movement training, and manual therapy techniques to facilitate meaningful recovery. Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical abilities and needs, regularly monitoring progress and making necessary adjustments to treatment plans. Educate patients and their families on effective rehabilitation techniques and exercises to ensure continued progress outside of therapy sessions. Maintain comprehensive documentation and treatment records, facilitating seamless communication and care coordination with the multidisciplinary team. Patient Population / Client Focus Your primary focus will be on patients recovering from surgical procedures, accidents, or chronic illnesses within a skilled nursing facility setting. You will work with a diverse patient population, including elderly individuals requiring rehabilitation after hip or knee replacements, stroke survivors, and patients dealing with debilitating musculoskeletal conditions. Your role will directly impact their quality of life and overall rehabilitation outcomes, enabling them to regain independence and improve daily functioning. Qualifications Active New York State Physical Therapist License is mandatory. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy; however, a Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred. At least two years of clinical experience, ideally in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting, demonstrating competence in various therapeutic modalities. Strong communication skills to effectively educate and support patients and collaborate with the healthcare team. A commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care that prioritizes the unique needs of each individual. Preferred Experience Experience with documentation and electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Familiarity with advanced rehabilitation technologies and modalities, enhancing patient recovery processes. Certifications in specialized physical therapy practices, such as dry needling or vestibular rehabilitation, are a plus.
