ESS Clinical is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist to provide comprehensive physical therapy services for students in Williamsburg County School District, South Carolina . Pay starting W2 $62 1099 $68 No non-competes in our contracts Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct physical therapy evaluations to determine students' educational needs. Assess gross motor development, mobility, strength, balance, posture, coordination, endurance, and functional skills. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans in accordance with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP). Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services to students from preschool through age 21. Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations and eligibility meetings. Attend and contribute to IEP meetings. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, school psychologists, nurses, and families. Recommend adaptive equipment, mobility devices, seating systems, positioning equipment, and environmental modifications. Train school personnel and caregivers in positioning, transfers, mobility, and safe handling techniques. Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as appropriate. Maintain timely documentation, evaluation reports, progress notes, Medicaid billing documentation (if applicable), and service logs. Ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, South Carolina regulations, district policies, and ESS Clinical standards. Travel between assigned schools as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), Master's, or Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program. Current, unrestricted South Carolina Physical Therapist License and successful completion of the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE). Ability to obtain and maintain all required employment clearances. Valid South Carolina driver's license or reliable transportation for travel between assigned school sites.
Preferred:
Previous pediatric and/or school-based physical therapy experience. Experience providing physical therapy services to students with orthopedic, neurological, developmental, and multiple disabilities. Knowledge of and experience participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings. Experience with assistive technology, adaptive equipment, and seating/positioning systems. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary educational team. Required Licensure and Certifications Applicants must possess and maintain: Current South Carolina Physical Therapist License. Graduation from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapy program. National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) certification. Current CPR and First Aid certification (preferred or required by assignment). Valid driver's license. Successful criminal background check, including
SLED/FBI
screening as required by South Carolina law. Eligibility to work in the United States. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and special education procedures. Knowledge of pediatric physical therapy principles. Knowledge of gross motor development and functional mobility. Ability to evaluate educationally relevant physical therapy needs. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple school assignments. Proficiency with electronic documentation systems and Microsoft Office. Physical Requirements Lift, transfer, and position students safely. Push wheelchairs and adaptive equipment. Bend, kneel, squat, reach, and stand for extended periods. Travel between school locations. Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds independently and more with assistance. Working Conditions Elementary, middle, and high school settings. Therapy rooms, classrooms, playgrounds, gyms, and community-based instructional environments. Frequent interaction with students with varying disabilities. Travel between assigned campuses.
