This energetic position offers the opportunity to work closely with licensed physical therapists, assisting in delivering exceptional patient care across various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and post-acute care facilities. Your dedication will help patients regain mobility, improve function, and achieve their health goals through compassionate support and hands-on assistance. Responsibilities Assist physical therapists with patient intake procedures, including gathering medical history and explaining treatment plans. Support patients during therapy sessions by helping with exercises, transfers, and mobility activities using proper patient transfer methods. Maintain a clean and organized treatment environment, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and ready for use. Monitor patient progress during therapy sessions, noting observations and reporting any concerns to the supervising therapist. Handle manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of equipment or assistive devices while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times by following HIPAA guidelines and safeguarding sensitive information. Support administrative duties including scheduling appointments, updating patient records, and managing documentation related to physiotherapy treatments. Experience Prior experience practicing in a physical therapy role or supporting rehabilitation care is highly preferred. Experience working in hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or inpatient settings provides valuable insight into acute and post-acute care environments. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient transfer methods enhances your ability to assist effectively. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with clients and healthcare team members ensures smooth collaboration. Hands-on experience with physiotherapy practices in orthopedics, geriatrics, or sub-acute care settings is advantageous. Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is required to ensure safety during emergency situations. Bilingual English / Spanish preferred.
