The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology, with a passion for assisting in the recovery and mobility improvement of diverse patient populations. As a Physical Therapy Aide, you will play a vital role in preparing treatment areas, assisting therapists with therapeutic procedures, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in outpatient, inpatient, and post-acute care settings while contributing to patient well-being. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by setting up equipment and ensuring cleanliness to facilitate efficient therapy sessions. Assist physical therapists and occupational therapists with patient positioning, transfers, and exercises under supervision. Operate medical equipment such as ultrasound machines, electrical stimulation devices, and orthotic interventions in occupational therapy. Maintain accurate documentation of patient activities and progress in accordance with clinic protocols. Support patients with mobility aids, orthotics, and assistive devices during therapy sessions. Ensure adherence to safety standards and infection control procedures throughout all clinical activities. Inventory management of medical supplies and equipment to ensure availability for daily operations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including dance therapists, geriatrics specialists, and hospital medicine staff to optimize patient outcomes. Requirements Prior experience practicing in a physical therapy or related healthcare role is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to rehabilitation practices. Familiarity with hand therapy occupational practices and orthotics interventions within occupational therapy settings. Experience operating various medical equipment used in physical therapy treatments. Inpatient, outpatient, or clinic experience in post-acute care environments is preferred. Knowledge of geriatrics, sub-acute care practices, and hospital medicine enhances candidate suitability. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and equipment management.
