Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Wellness Aide to support our rehabilitation and patient care teams. This vital role provides assistance in delivering high-quality physiotherapy services within outpatient, inpatient, and post-acute care settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient service, anatomy, and physiology, with a keen interest in promoting recovery and wellness through supportive care. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic healthcare environment while contributing to patient rehabilitation and overall well-being. Duties Assist licensed physical therapists and rehabilitation specialists with patient intake, setup, and preparation for therapy sessions. Support patients with mobility, transfers, and exercises using proper manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment in accordance with hospital protocols and safety standards. Monitor patient progress during therapy sessions, documenting observations accurately while maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information. Aid in the setup of therapy equipment and assist with the maintenance of physiotherapy tools and supplies. Provide compassionate patient care by offering encouragement, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring comfort throughout treatment. Support rehabilitation care efforts by assisting with mobility exercises, post-acute care routines, and outpatient therapy programs. Follow all safety protocols including CPR certification requirements to ensure patient and staff safety at all times. Requirements Prior experience in hospital or clinical settings, particularly within inpatient or outpatient physiotherapy or orthopedics environments. Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform manual handling tasks effectively. Strong communication skills for client interaction, team collaboration, and clear documentation of patient activities. Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is required; additional certifications related to acute or sub-acute care are advantageous. Experience working with geriatric populations or in geriatrics-focused rehabilitation is preferred. Familiarity with patient transfer methods, hospital medicine practices, and post-acute care procedures is highly desirable. Pay:
$16.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 36.0 - 40.0 per week
