Job Description

Local physical rehabilitation clinic is hiring for a Full Time or Part Time Physical Therapy Aide for our Aquatics Program. We are looking for a highly motivated, positive and reliable individual with previous customer service experience.
JOB FUNCTIONS
1.
Responsible for:
a. Greeting, taking patient to the gym, pool, locker rooms, or treatment room and providing them the appropriate clothing to change into. b. Patient set-ups including applying hot packs, ice packs or paraffin c. Performing supervised modalities as directed by the Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant including electrical stimulation, ultrasound. 2. Responsible for daily maintenance of the depart including: a. Cleaning treatment tables, mats and equipment. Equipment, tables, or mats used by patients have to be wiped down with an EPA approved cleaner after each patient use. b. Changing linens after each patient use. c. Straightening countertops, shelves, and cabinets. d. Managing clean and soiled laundry (washing, drying, folding and putting away) e. Re-stocking gym and rooms with towels, gowns, linens and supplies. 3. Responsible for supervision of patient exercise programs developed by the Physical Therapist/ Physical Therapist Assistant and monitoring of patients while using exercise equipment such as the pool equipment, stationary bicycle, treadmill, UBE, pulley system, etc. May include monitoring heart rate and blood pressure as directed by Physical Therapist/Physical Therapist Assistant. 4. Responsible for ordering and maintaining/stocking supplies. 5. Responsible for routine cleaning of hydrocollator and hot packs. 6. Responsible for answering telephones and returning messages including applicable documentation as needed. 7. Responsible for rescheduling and managing patient appointments at the direction of the physical therapist and front office staff including the waitlist. 8. Uphold strict HIPPA confidentiality standards. 9. Route or fax paperwork to physicians for approvals/signatures. 10. Responsible for safety and comfort of patient. 11. Responsible for daily restroom and locker room cleanliness and stocking of toilet paper and paper towels. 12. Understands and complies with emergency evacuation procedures. 13. Adheres to departmental patient handling performance standards and teamwork performance standards. 14. Demonstrates competent computer skills in regards to general word processing, excel and scheduling, cancelling and re-scheduling patients as needed and directed by the therapist or supervisor. 15. Maintain up to date working knowledge of insurance coverage and requirements. 16. Attends scheduled meetings. 17. Fills in for and covers for receptionist as requested by the Supervisor. 18. Daily cleaning/maintenance of hot water therapy pool 19. Other duties as assigned by department manager.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED. Bilingual (Spanish) would be helpful, but not required. One-year work experience in medical office setting preferred. Please respond and attach your resume.
