Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient care, with experience in various clinical settings, including acute care, plastic surgery, and diagnostic radiology. This role involves supporting licensed physical therapists in delivering comprehensive rehabilitation services, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through compassionate and professional care. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in medical documentation, health education, and electronic health records management, contributing to a collaborative and patient-centered environment. Responsibilities Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs. Provide direct patient care, including manual handling, mobility assistance, and therapeutic exercises to promote recovery. Monitor and report patient progress, documenting responses and adjustments to treatment protocols accurately within electronic health records (EHR). Support patients with blood sampling procedures, patient condition reporting, and maintaining safety during therapy sessions. Educate patients on health maintenance strategies, post-treatment care instructions, and injury prevention techniques. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by adhering to basic life support (BLS) and CPR protocols at all times. Maintain a clean, organized treatment environment while managing medical documentation efficiently for legal and clinical purposes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nursing staff, diagnostic radiology specialists, and other healthcare providers to optimize patient care outcomes. Experience Prior experience working in clinical environments such as acute care units or outpatient clinics is highly desirable. Demonstrated proficiency in medical terminology relevant to physical therapy, nursing, and surgical procedures. Experience with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient record management is essential. Knowledge of medical procedures including blood sampling, diagnostic radiology procedures, and post-surgical rehabilitation techniques. Background working with diverse patient populations requiring critical care or specialized treatments such as plastic surgery or surgery recovery. Strong client communication skills to effectively engage with patients of varying ages and conditions while providing clear health education. Certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program is required; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR are preferred. Pay:
$34.84 - $41.96 per hour
