Job Description

New Harmony Healthcare Center in New Harmony, IN is seeking a new PRN Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our growing In-House therapy team. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and motivated clinician looking to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative, skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting. New Harmony sits in a historic town on the Wabash River in Harmony Township, Posey County. Premier Healthcare of New Harmony is surrounded by lush farmlands and scenic countryside. New Harmony is located 15 miles north of Mt. Vernon and 25 miles Northwest of Evansville via Highway 66. In our well-appointed New Harmony facility, we offer the best short-term rehabilitation as well as long-term care. Here, our caregivers are specially trained to work with and care for seniors with a wide range of needs. Our dynamic therapy department delivers personalized therapy programs to help meet every resident's individual goals. We also offer respite services if the caregiver needs a break from one's care. Stay for a few days, weeks, or as long as you need. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Administer treatment to residents and patients with temporary or long-term disabilities to relieve pain, restore or improve function, and promote healing Assure all treatment is delivered in accordance with an established plan of care Provide clinical support and instruct patients, families, and caregivers Monitor patient response to treatment intervention Complete required forms and documentation in accordance with company policy and state/federal regulations Consulting with patients to learn about their physical condition. Assessing and interpreting patient evaluations and test results. Developing treatment plans using a variety of treatment techniques. Creating personalized fitness-oriented health care programs for patients. Administering medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain and improve mobility. Advising patients on exercise techniques. Advising patients and their families about in-home treatment options. Providing educational information about injury prevention, ergonomics and ways to promote physical health. Consulting and collaborating with other healthcare professionals. Documenting patient care history. Complying with rules, regulations, and procedures.
Qualifications:
Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program. Current PTA license in the state of employment. CPR certification required. Previous experience in skilled nursing, rehab, or long-term care preferred. Strong understanding of rehabilitation principles, restorative care, and geriatric populations. Knowledge of Medicare Part A, Part B, and managed care preferred. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Apply Today All inquiries will be held confidential
