Job Description
We are seeking an Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a 60-day assignment in California, commencing Nov 2, 2026. The schedule involves weekend coverage with 10 or 12-hour shifts, focusing on high-volume, high-acuity urgent care cases. This role requires independent management of diverse urgent care needs, including patient evaluations, efficient case management, and precise documentation. Responsibilities and Duties Independently manage a wide range of urgent care cases in a fast-paced, high-volume, high-acuity practice. Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and provide effective management of urgent care cases. Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record system. Execute essential procedural skills including laceration repair and suturing. Perform ingrown toenail removal procedures. Conduct fracture evaluation and management. Perform incision and drainage (I&D) procedures.
Additional Information Required Board Certifications:
Emergency Medicine, Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP), Urgent Care.
EMR:
Epic. This is a high-volume, high-acuity urgent care practice. Candidates must possess significant hands-on clinical experience, with several years in an emergency room or high-acuity urgent care setting. Experience limited to training programs, school-based exposure, or prior nursing roles will not be sufficient for this position. On-site diagnostic services available include STAT laboratory testing, X-ray, CT scan, and Ultrasound. The work schedule typically involves Saturday/Sunday/Monday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday/Tuesday, with 10-hour or 12-hour shifts.
