Job Description
We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant for a 56-day assignment in California, starting Sep 2, 2026. This role involves working independently of Physician supervision, handling low acuity Emergency Room cases with shifts from 10:45 AM - 9:15 PM. The caseload includes sutures, patients with chest pain, undifferentiated abdominal pain, pelvic exams, occasional vertical 3 patients, lacerations, eye exams with slit lamps, and headaches. Responsibilities and Duties Work independently of Physician supervision Manage low acuity Emergency Room cases, functioning as a fast track Urgent Care to ER role with higher acuity patients than true Urgent Care Perform sutures Evaluate and treat patients with chest pain, including 40-year-olds Assess undifferentiated abdominal pain Conduct pelvic exams Manage occasional vertical 3 patients Address lacerations Perform eye exams using slit lamps Treat headaches Authorize technicians to perform splints
