Orthopaedic Associates of Duluth, P.A. is seeking an experienced and motivated Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing orthopedic practice.

The Opportunity This position will work closely with a general orthopedic surgeon specializing in shoulder surgery and will provide a combination of clinical and procedural care. The ideal candidate will have orthopedic, surgical, trauma, or pediatric experience and enjoy caring for a diverse patient population. Experience in orthopedics is preferred, but we are also interested in candidates with strong surgical or procedural backgrounds who are excited to build their career in orthopedics. You will have the opportunity to: Evaluate and manage patients throughout the continuum of orthopedic care. Develop treatment plans in collaboration with the physician and care team. Perform appropriate office-based procedures, injections, wound care, suturing, and other clinical procedures within your scope of practice. Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including imaging and laboratory testing. Assist with surgical procedures and provide perioperative patient care. Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, recovery, and prevention. Prescribe medications within the scope of licensure and practice guidelines. Follow patients through treatment and recovery while establishing long-term relationships with those in your care. Exercise clinical judgment and communicate directly with the supervising/collaborating physician when consultation is appropriate. You will be joining a practice of 12 physicians and 11 PAs/NPs, supported by experienced clinical and administrative teams. Outreach Opportunities This position includes travel to outreach clinics approximately two to three days per week, providing orthopedic care to patients in communities outside our primary clinic locations. Qualifications:

Required Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program. Current state licensure and applicable national certification. Ability to obtain and maintain required credentials and clinical privileges. Strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient-care skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated ability to provide care to patients across a broad range of ages. Preferred Orthopedic experience. Surgical, trauma, sports medicine, or pediatric experience. Experience assisting in the operating room. Experience with orthopedic procedures, injections, wound care, or casting/splinting. Interest in developing expertise in shoulder and general orthopedic care. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as needed. Ability to work in environments where exposure to bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, and patient bodily fluids may occur.
