The above reflects the anticipated annual salary range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview The Physician Assistant will provide coverage with evaluation, treatment, and documentation of service for patients requiring orthopedic care in both the operating and office environment. The PA will assist the physician during office hours including nonop, preoperative and postoperative instructions for all orthopedic subspecialities within the practice; provides dictation support and documentation of patient encounters, letters of Medical Necessity, Disability Forms, Discharge Letters and conduct patient calls/post-op calls.

Essential Functions Reviews charts preoperatively and documents any pertinent information Provides coverage with residents, fellows and other advanced practitioners covering provider on-call schedules Liaisons between physician and outside consulting physicians regarding patient care Performs assessment and reassessment of the patient according to applicable department standards and identified tools Assists physician during hospital rounds with post-op patients and with research as needed Participates in and contributes to orthopedic educational activities for appropriate internal and external parties Performs other duties as assigned by the Physicia Ability to organize and achieve quality performance in a new and changing environment, possess good working knowledge of scheduling and procedure prioritization to minimize delays and ensure completion of daily work schedule Recognizes areas for improvement in divisional policies or patient care; initiates change; educate all involved in change Passion and Experience providing empathetic patient care and exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization
