Job Description

The Physician Assistant (PA-C) provides high-quality, patient-centered medical care in a fast-paced urgent care setting. The PA independently evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a wide range of acute conditions, performs procedures, orders and interprets diagnostics, and ensures excellent clinical documentation and patient satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Care:
Evaluate and treat patients of all ages for urgent/acute medical conditions. Perform procedures including (but not limited to) laceration repair, I&D, splinting, wound care, burn care, foreign body removal. Order and interpret X-rays, EKGs, point-of-care tests, and lab work. Prescribe medications in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Manage occupational medicine cases and complete required documentation. Collaborate with MAs, X-ray techs, and administrative staff to maintain clinic flow.
Patient Experience:
Communicate diagnoses and treatment plans clearly. Provide education regarding medications, aftercare, and follow-up. Maintain high levels of patient satisfaction through efficient and compassionate care.
Team & Operational Support:
Participate in staff meetings, clinical training, and quality improvement initiatives. Assist in onboarding and mentoring new providers as needed. Support workflow needs during peak volumes.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Master's degree from an accredited PA program. Current PA license in the state of Texas. NCCPA certification. BLS required; ACLS preferred. Ability to independently provide urgent/acute care services. EMR proficiency.
Preferred:
1+ years of urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care experience.. Procedural competence with suturing, I&Ds, splinting, ECG interpretation, Xray reads, etc.. DOT certification.
