Onsite residential accommodations available Position Summary Caduceus Occupational Medicine is seeking a qualified Physician Assistant to provide medical services at an onsite construction clinic in Childress, Texas. This 1099 independent contractor position will provide occupational medicine, urgent care, injury evaluation, preventive services, and emergency response support for construction employees working in a remote and industrial environment. The ideal candidate is clinically confident, dependable, safety-minded, and comfortable working independently within established protocols while collaborating with the supervising physician, medical support staff, onsite safety personnel, and project leadership. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Evaluate and treat work-related injuries, illnesses, and common acute medical conditions. Perform medical evaluations, physical examinations, follow-up visits, and return-to-work assessments. Assess employees' ability to safely perform job duties and establish appropriate work restrictions when medically indicated. Provide wound care, laceration repair, splinting, injections, medication management, and other procedures within the provider's training, credentialing, and scope of practice. Provide emergency assessment, stabilization, and coordination of emergency medical services when necessary. Conduct or assist with drug and alcohol testing, specimen collection, vaccinations, laboratory testing, and other occupational health services. Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, and follow-up care with outside healthcare providers. Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, applicable laws, clinical protocols, and company policies. Communicate appropriately with employees, supervisors, safety personnel, claims representatives, and clinical leadership while maintaining patient privacy. Participate in onsite safety initiatives, injury-prevention efforts, and health education activities. Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked clinic. Monitor medical supplies, equipment, and emergency response materials. Collaborate with medical assistants, the supervising physician, telemedicine support, and project personnel. Perform other duties related to onsite occupational medicine services as assigned. Required Qualifications Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in Texas. NCCPA certification. Current BLS certification. Current ACLS certification, or the ability to obtain it before beginning the assignment. Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Ability to practice within applicable Texas laws, supervising physician requirements, and established clinical protocols. Strong clinical judgment and communication skills. Ability to complete accurate medical documentation in an electronic medical record. Ability to work professionally and effectively in a construction-site environment. Successful completion of required background screening, drug screening, credentialing, and other pre-assignment requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience in occupational medicine, urgent care, emergency medicine, family medicine, or industrial medicine. Experience treating construction, industrial, manufacturing, or workplace injuries. Previous experience working in a remote clinic or onsite medical setting. DOT medical examiner certification, if applicable to the assignment. Experience with workers' compensation documentation and return-to-work evaluations. Experience providing emergency response and injury-prevention education. Independent Contractor Terms This is a 1099 independent contractor position and is not eligible for employee benefits, paid time off, or employee-sponsored health insurance. The contractor is responsible for applicable federal, state, and local taxes associated with compensation received. A per diem of $75.00 per day is available in accordance with the assignment terms. Onsite residential accommodations are available for the duration of the assignment, subject to availability and applicable site rules. The contractor must comply with onsite safety requirements, applicable clinical protocols, credentialing requirements, and project policies. Contractor hours, assignment duration, and staffing needs may vary based on the construction project's operational requirements. Work Environment and Physical Requirements This position is based at an onsite construction clinic and may require working in a remote, industrial, outdoor, or temporary-site environment. The provider may be exposed to heat, dust, noise, weather conditions, uneven terrain, and construction-related hazards. Appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn as required. The position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, reach, climb stairs, respond quickly to medical emergencies, and safely perform clinical duties.
