Performs first assist duties in surgery, comprehensive and problem-focused histories, minor surgical procedures, diagnoses and treats illnesses and injuries, orders and interprets laboratory and radiographic studies, educates and counsels patients, renders emergency care, and facilitates patient referrals to the appropriate physician or agency.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Work Experience:

One year of experience as Physician Assistant preferred.

License/Registration/Certification:

Valid Physician Assistant license issued by the Texas Medical Board. Physician Assistant - Certified issued by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Current BLS certification required. Must have DEA Number, DPS Number, and the ability to obtain an NPI Number.

Education and Training:

Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.

Skills:

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to remain flexible and positive in stressful situations. Effective assessment, evaluation and resolution skills. Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
