Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing bariatric and general surgery practice. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with experienced surgeons while providing comprehensive care to patients throughout their surgical journey. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in both the hospital and outpatient clinic settings , assisting surgeons in the operating room, caring for post-operative patients, and managing follow-up visits and weight-loss care. Key Responsibilities Assist bariatric and general surgeons in the operating room . Perform hospital rounds and provide post-operative care to surgical patients. Monitor patients' recovery and communicate with surgeons regarding patient status and treatment plans. Evaluate patients in the outpatient clinic for pre- and post-operative follow-up. Conduct in-person and telephone follow-up appointments . Perform routine weight checks and monitor patients' weight-loss progress. Provide follow-up care and support for bariatric surgery patients. Manage and provide appropriate weight-loss medication refills in accordance with established treatment plans and applicable prescribing requirements. Educate patients regarding nutrition, lifestyle changes, medications, and post-operative care. Respond to patient questions and concerns by phone as needed. Document patient assessments, treatment plans, and follow-up care accurately in the medical record. Collaborate closely with surgeons, clinical staff, hospitals, and other healthcare professionals. Participate in one weekend per month of on-call coverage . Qualifications Current Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in the applicable state. Current national certification as an NP or PA. Appropriate prescribing privileges and applicable state/federal credentials. Strong clinical assessment and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in both hospital and outpatient environments. Comfortable assisting in the operating room and caring for surgical patients. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Compassionate, professional approach to patient care. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the surgical team. Experience in bariatric surgery, general surgery, surgical services, or weight management is preferred but not required. Pay:
$100,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
