Psychiatry Opportunity in South Lake Tahoe, California You'll step into a 100% outpatient Adult Psychiatry role in a mountain community where your clinical judgment and steady presence are valued. This position is designed for a psychiatrist who wants a predictable schedule, strong on-site support, and no inpatient responsibilities. Practice Overview 100% outpatient General/Adult Psychiatry; no inpatient duties and no call You'll join a team with 1 Adult Psychiatrist, 1 Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, and 2 LCSWs providing therapy Dedicated 1:1 Medical Assistant support plus in-house scheduling coordinators for phones, scheduling, authorizations, and referrals Clinical approach to medicine is conservative, evidence-based, on-label prescribing; you'll help stabilize and guide an established adult panel
Schedule Full-time:
32 patient-facing hours/week (four 8-hour clinic days) plus 8 hours of admin time Clinic hours: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM with lunch closed 12:00 PM-1:00 PM Typical volume: 7-14 patients/day depending on case mix Visit lengths: 60-minute adult intakes (option up to 90 minutes for complex cases) and 30-minute follow-ups/med management Compensation & Benefits Base salary starting at $370,000 annually $100,000 combined sign-on/transition bonus for housing or loan repayment assistance Full benefits package including health, retirement, CME allowance, and full malpractice coverage Telehealth visits available for local patients when conducted on-site Candidate Requirements Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry Comfortable managing a broad adult outpatient caseload in a collaborative clinic model Aligned with conservative, evidence-based, on-label prescribing and willing to adjust existing regimens toward standard care Comfortable practicing in a rural setting where higher-acuity crises may route through the ED/county services Community & Location Highlights Based in South Lake Tahoe, California-mountain living with year-round outdoor recreation nearby Community hospital environment serving as a key hub for the region Opportunities to participate in local outreach projects with support from a public relations team and community support director Option to incorporate some child/adolescent cases if you have interest/training, alongside the Medical Director Reach out today to learn more about this opportunity and how it aligns with your career goals.
