Contract:
No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting The incumbent responsible to provide comprehensive medical care, under the Pient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model, to a panel of pients managed under PCMM guidelines. The incumbent is expected to be tentive to pient educion, preventive care and be able to work well in an interdisciplinary team to provide high quality primary care. The incumbent responsible for providing comprehensive medical care. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manages chronic conditions, evalues and tres inter-current medical conditions. Determine medical assessment and develop trement plans according to accepted protocols. Collabores with a Pient Aligned Care Team (PACT) to provide accessible, comprehensive, coordined, continuous care to an assigned panel of pients. Must provide comprehensive care for female veterans as a Women's Health PCP including age approprie cervical and breast cancer screening, menopause and contraceptive management, and initial evaluion of basic gynecological concerns. Performs a variety of disease prevention reled activities including sex and age specific screenings, mental health screenings, and health promotion activities. Screens for, evalues and tres uncompliced common mental health disorders, including depression and common addictions, with referrals made to mental health providers for further evaluion and trement as approprie. Provide Buprenorphine trement in the management of Opioid Use Disorder per DEA guidance. Primary care physicians will have responsibility for supervision of or collaborion with primary care mid-level providers. Physicians are expected to provide clinical oversight and to participe in peer review of other primary care providers through periodic chart reviews. Primary care physicians will act as surroges for absent primary care providers when needed, to include review of CPRS view alerts. Primary care physicians will regular tend primary care staff meetings, departmental meetings and medical staff meetings. Timely documention (notes and encounter forms) is necessary in all areas in accordance with facility policy. All administrive work should be completed in a timely fashion. Clinical reminders should be addressed as medically approprie. Quality of care should meet professional standards. Utilizion of all Virtual Care modalities is an expection of this position. Provide timely follow-up on results, including completion of view alerts. Prescribe medicion according to approved formulary, and in accordance with Federal and Ste Law. Consults other specialties as approprie, according to service agreements. Demonstres flexibility in responding to clinic demands, adhere to personal and professional obligions and responsibilities, practice and maintain ethical standards, and sustain a work environment th is harmonious and customer service oriented. Cover unassigned/unscheduled pients or clinic when a provider is on leave or when there is a provider vacancy, urgent need. Assignments may include management of specialty PACT such as Women's health
PACT, SCI PACT, OEF/OIF
PACT, Homeless or
GERI PACT.
Travel to other sites within the Health Care System to cover provider shortage.

Basic Requirements United Stes Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of educion in allophic medicine or osteophic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a Ste, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United Stes, or in the District of Columbia.
Residency Training:
Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certificion. (
NOTE :
VA physicians involved in academic training programs may be required to be board certified for faculty stus.) Approved residencies are: (1) Those approved by the accrediting bodies for gradue medical educion, the Accredition Council for Gradue Medical Educion (ACGME) or American Osteophic Associion (AOA), in the list published for the year the residency, or fellowship if applicable, was completed; OR (2) One year of post medical school training (internship, first year of residency, or transitional year residency) approved by ACGME or AOA followed by two years of post-training independent practice (performing under a full and unrestricted license) in the United Stes; OR (3) Non-US residency training programs followed by a minimum of three years of verified independent practice in the United Stes (performing under a full and unrestricted license) performing duties reled to the position they are applying for (United Stes fellowships would be creditable towards this requirement), which the local Medical Staff Executive Committee deems to have provided the applicant with approprie professional training and believes has exposed the Physician to an approprie range of pient care experiences.

Residents currently enrolled in
ACGME/AOA
accredited residency training programs and who would otherwise meet the basic requirements for appointment are eligible to be appointed as "Physician Resident Providers" (PRPs). PRPs must be fully licensed physicians (i.e., not a training license) and may only be appointed on an intermittent basis. PRPs are not considered independent practitioners and will not be privileged; rher, they are to have a "scope of practice" th allows them to perform certain restricted duties under supervision. Additionally, surgery residents in gap years may also be appointed as PRPs. In rare and unusual circumstances, the Facility Director can submit a memo to the VISN Director through the VISN Chief Medical Officer, who may approve requests for reasonable exceptions to the residency training requirement for Physicians whose composite record of experience, accomplishments, performance, and qualificions warrant such action. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Preferred Experience Experience within the adult primary care outpient setting within the last 2 years. Board Certificion in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine is preferred. Family Medicine or Internal Medicine residency training.

Approved schools are:
Schools of medicine accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Educion (LCME) for the year in which the degree was granted. Schools of osteophic medicine approved by the Commission on Osteophic College Accredition (COCA) for the year in which the degree was granted. For foreign medical gradues not covered in (1) or (2) above, confirmion must be made th the medical school meets (or met) Educional Commission for Foreign Medical Gradues (ECFMG) eligibility requirement for year gradued.
NOTE:
The Under Secretary of Health or designee in the VHA Central Office may approve the appointment under authority of 38 U.S.C. 7405 of a physician gradue of a school of medicine not covered above if the candide is to be assigned to a research, academic, or administrive position with no pient care responsibilities.
