Pillar Health Co. is a growing multidisciplinary health and wellness practice in Champaign, Illinois, focused on helping people stay strong, mobile, and energized throughout every stage of life. We provide integrated, patient-centered care that goes beyond symptom management to support long-term health, resilience, performance, and quality of life. Our approach brings together movement-based care, injury rehabilitation, performance and recovery strategies, functional medicine, and personalized nutrition and lifestyle guidance. We believe patients deserve time with their providers, a clear understanding of their health, and individualized treatment plans built around their needs and goals. As we continue to grow, our vision is to build a collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare team serving Champaign-Urbana and the greater Central Illinois community. About the Position Pillar Health Co. is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Doctor of Chiropractic with training and experience in functional, integrative, nutrition, or lifestyle medicine to help expand our functional medicine services. This is an opportunity for a provider who enjoys taking a deeper look at complex health concerns and wants the time and autonomy to provide highly individualized care. The position will initially begin on a part-time, hourly basis and is designed to grow alongside the provider's patient panel and demand for the service. As clinical volume supports it, there will be an opportunity to transition into a full-time salaried position with a performance-based bonus structure . This may be an especially good fit for an established healthcare professional interested in adding functional medicine hours to their current schedule or for a provider looking to gradually transition into a larger functional and integrative medicine role. What You'll Do Responsibilities will be tailored to the provider's professional license, training, and scope of practice and may include: Conduct comprehensive new-patient consultations and follow-up visits. Review health history, symptoms, lifestyle factors, nutrition, previous testing, and patient goals. Develop individualized care plans using functional, integrative, and lifestyle-medicine principles. Order and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic testing within professional scope of practice. Provide evidence-informed guidance related to nutrition, sleep, stress, movement, metabolic health, gastrointestinal health, and other lifestyle factors. Recommend and monitor nutraceutical and lifestyle interventions when clinically appropriate. For appropriately licensed providers, prescribe and manage medications when indicated and within scope of practice. Educate patients so they better understand their health and the rationale behind their care plan. Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record. Collaborate with the Pillar Health clinical team and coordinate care or outside referrals when appropriate. Stay current with evolving research and best practices within functional, integrative, and lifestyle medicine. Participate periodically in patient education, community outreach, or practice content related to areas of expertise. Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is clinically thoughtful, patient-centered, collaborative, and comfortable working with a high degree of professional autonomy. Nurse Practitioner Candidates Active Illinois APRN license. Full Practice Authority in Illinois strongly preferred. Appropriate prescribing credentials and DEA registration when required for the provider's clinical role. Previous clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner. Training or demonstrated experience in functional, integrative, or lifestyle medicine. Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and documentation skills. Doctor of Chiropractic Candidates Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Active Illinois chiropractic license or eligibility for Illinois licensure. Previous clinical experience preferred. Additional education or demonstrated experience in functional medicine, clinical nutrition, lifestyle medicine, or specialty laboratory testing. Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and documentation skills. Preferred Training & Experience Additional training through organizations or programs such as the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M), American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM), Functional Medicine University (FMU), DACBN, DABCI, or comparable functional/integrative medicine education is valued. Experience with functional medicine laboratory testing, nutrition, metabolic health, gastrointestinal health, hormonal health, and/or complex chronic health concerns is also desirable. Formal certification is valuable, but we are interested in the provider's overall clinical experience, training, and approach to patient care. Why Pillar Health? We are intentionally building a different kind of healthcare environment. Providers should have the time to listen, think critically, educate their patients, and develop individualized care rather than feeling pressured to move patients through brief, high-volume visits. At Pillar Health, you'll have the opportunity to: Practice within a patient-centered, individualized model of care. Work with professional autonomy while remaining part of a collaborative clinical environment. Spend meaningful time educating and developing relationships with patients. Collaborate across musculoskeletal care, rehabilitation, recovery, nutrition, and functional medicine. Help shape and grow an expanding functional medicine service line. Grow your clinical hours and role as patient demand develops. Contribute ideas and expertise as Pillar Health continues to evolve.
