Job Description

Client is seeking qualified Emergency Medicine physicians for an urgent-priority opportunity in Kansas City, Kansas. This is a community-based Emergency Medicine position within a Level III Trauma Center, offering a consistent daytime schedule, established physician and advanced practice provider coverage, and a manageable annual ED volume. The opportunity is ideal for an Emergency Medicine physician who is comfortable working in a setting with limited specialty backup and managing a broad range of emergency presentations.
Clinical Overview:
Approximately 18,000 annual ED visits Approximately patients per day 24 hours of physician coverage 12 hours of mid-level coverage Approximately 23% admission rate Level III Trauma Center 52 hospital beds 13 ED beds Limited specialty backup Nearest trauma center: Kansas University Floor codes required
Schedule:
12-hour shifts 6:00 AM 6:00 PM Daytime Emergency Medicine coverage
Technology & Documentation:
Epic EMR Dragon voice-recognition technology available No traditional scribe coverage listed
Physician Qualifications:
Board Requirements:
ABEM or BEEM, or ABFM with Emergency Medicine experience Alternative board certifications, including ABPS, may be considered for physicians who successfully completed an Emergency Medicine-focused Family Medicine residency.
Required Certifications:
ACLS ATLS PALS NIHSS
Candidates should be comfortable practicing independently in a Level III Trauma Center environment and working with limited specialty backup.
