Hospitalist Job in McPherson, Kansas
Job Description
Provide medical direction and attend to patients in local skilled nursing and long-term care facilities in McPherson, KS. Partner with nurse practitioners and physician assistants to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care and provide clinical oversight within assigned facilities. Key responsibilities Perform on-site visits, assessments, and ongoing management of post-acute and long-term care residents Collaborate with facility staff and advanced practice clinicians on care plans, transitions, and quality initiatives Provide clinical leadership, documentation, and timely communication with families and care teams Participate in performance improvement and adherence to facility protocols and regulatory requirements Schedule and workload Part-time with flexible scheduling; physicians typically cover each facility 1-2 days per week No fixed start/end times, no call, no overnight shifts Average 18-25 visits per day Company-provided iPad with LTE for documentation Compensation and benefits Competitive compensation with performance-based bonuses and earning potential above industry benchmarks Up to $50,000 long-term retention incentive Paid time off; 401(k) with employer match Medical, dental, and vision insurance (eligibility applies) Employer-paid life insurance; short- and long-term disability (eligibility applies) CME allowance and licensure reimbursement Company-provided iPad with LTE and professional lab coat Qualifications MD or DO with active, unrestricted U.S. medical license or eligibility for licensure Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, PM&R, or Emergency Medicine Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and leadership skills Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care New graduates who are board-eligible and actively pursuing licensure encouraged to apply Additional facility opportunities available nationwide in: Georgia, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.
