We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Psychiatrist to provide high-quality care to our nation s Veterans. The major duties of a Physician - Inpatient Psychiatrist include but are not limited to: Comprehensive evaluation and treatment (pharmacological & psychological) for psychiatric outpatients and inpatients as needed. Conduct consultative evaluations and basic medical assessments for psychiatric patients. Provide care for a diverse range of mental health conditions: mood, psychotic, anxiety, PTSD, cognitive, and more. Prescribe medications including controlled substances and ensure clear documentation and patient education. Perform history & physical exams, as well as psychological counseling, crisis intervention, and group therapy. Educate and counsel patients and their families on preventive care, treatment plans, and the use of prescribed medications. Develop, complete, and update treatment plans, suicide risk assessments, safety plans, and ensure compliance with mental health quality metrics. Opportunity to participate in research projects.
