Locum Tenens About the Role We are seeking a Locum Physician, Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide coverage within outpatient Occupational Medicine and Urgent Care clinics throughout Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico. This position supports planned provider absences and staffing needs across multiple clinic locations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing both scheduled and walk-in patients, delivering high-quality care for occupational injuries, work-related illnesses, and urgent care conditions. Flexibility to travel between clinic locations is required. Responsibilities Diagnose and treat occupational injuries and illnesses. Evaluate and manage walk-in urgent care patients. Perform physical examinations, including: Pre-employment and pre-placement exams Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals Public safety and surveillance examinations Perform office-based procedures within scope of practice. Provide treatment recommendations, work restrictions, and return-to-work guidance. Communicate effectively with employers and care teams regarding patient progress and work status. Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical documentation. Deliver patient-centered care while demonstrating professionalism, clinical excellence, and respect in all interactions. Minimum Qualifications Active DOT Medical Examiner Certification prior to start date. Ability to practice independently within applicable state regulations. Active and unrestricted state medical license. Active and unrestricted DEA registration. Board Certified or Board Eligible Physician (MD/DO), or graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. Minimum of one year of office-based procedural experience. Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications One or more years of Occupational Medicine experience. One or more years of Urgent Care experience. Experience performing employment-related and regulatory physical examinations. Ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments and workflows. Schedule Monday through Friday Typical shifts: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, depending on clinic needs Coverage provided on an as-needed basis Travel between Albuquerque and Santa Fe clinic locations required Pre-Assignment Requirements 2-Step TB Test Background Check 9-Panel Drug Screen Current CV/Resume Medical Malpractice History Minimum five-year work history Completion of credentialing and onboarding requirements Work Environment Outpatient clinic setting Combination of Occupational Medicine and Urgent Care patient populations Collaborative multidisciplinary care environment Opportunity to support multiple clinic locations and diverse patient needs This role is ideal for providers who enjoy a fast-paced outpatient setting, value flexibility, and have experience delivering both occupational health and urgent care services.
