Noble Correctional Institution (NCI)
ODRC Duration:
Minimum 6 months (Potential for extension or permanent hire)
Schedule:
Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Shift:
Day Shift Monday Friday (Flexible start/end times based on facility needs)

Not Required Patient Load:
Approximately 2.5 patients per hour

Phone Interview + On-site Facility Tour Job Summary The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) is seeking a Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Physician specializing in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine with primary care experience to provide full-time onsite medical services to the adult male incarcerated population at Noble Correctional Institution. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive primary care services to incarcerated patients.
  • Conduct physical examinations and medical evaluations.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Diagnose illnesses and develop treatment plans.
  • Prescribe and manage medications.
  • Complete medical documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Perform medical reclassifications and required patient reviews.
  • Refer patients for specialty care when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives and peer reviews.
  • Practice in compliance with ODRC policies, procedures, protocols, and American Correctional Association (ACA) standards. Required Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree.
  • Active Ohio Medical License.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in: o Internal Medicine o Family Medicine o Emergency Medicine
  • Primary care experience required.
  • Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR Certification.
  • DEA Registration (Drug Enforcement Administration).
