Nurse Practitioner - (Podiatry, Vascular, Wound Care) Position in Martinez, CA! Job Description Join our Team at the Department of Veterans Affairs Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Martinez, CA as a Nurse Practitioner - (Podiatry, Vascular, Wound Care)! The Nurse Practitioner (NP) practices in Podiatry, Vascular and Wound Clinics and possibly other surgical clinics under Surgical Service to provide a full range of services emphasizing quality, timeliness, and the advancement of the Veterans Affairs (VA) mission. The NP provides advanced clinical practice, consultation, and management. The NP practices to the full extent of their education, training, and certification. Core functions are outlined in the clinical privileges that correspond with this position. The NP has prescriptive authority for a panel of patients or program as indicated by their position. Major duties and responsibilities of the position: Independently manages a panel of patients with acute and chronic health conditions with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention using evidence-based practice. Develops and implements an individualized plan to achieve optimal population health and disease management. Demonstrate leadership and work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team. Orders and interprets labs, tests, and diagnostic studies. Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions. Initiates referrals and consults to specialty services. Provides education to patients and their families. Assesses and adjusts the plan of care as needed to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The NP is a licensed independent practitioner with advanced education, national certification and some experience in procedure based surgical clinics (such as podiatry, wound care, plastic surgery, general surgery, orthopedics, ENT or urology) who provide evidence-based care for a population of patients. Evaluates and treats podiatric pathology, wounds or other surgical patients independently or in collaboration with the specialist to achieve optimal outcomes or manage chronic conditions to improve overall quality of life and function. Performs minor procedures in the clinic associated primarily with the care of podiatric and wound care patients to improve outcomes such as wound debridement, nail removal, nail and callous trimming and treatment of ingrown nails. Benefits and Features Expected Salary range from $190,766 - $253,100 per year (negotiable based on candidate's qualifications, credentials and experience).
50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 days paid absence for CME).

The clinic also operates a freestanding ambulatory surgery center. Additional services available at this facility include an infusion clinic, substance abuse treatment, pain management, rehabilitation medicine, phototherapy, audiology and speech pathology, women's health, Home Based Primary Care, EMG, EEG, movement disorder and a vascular laboratory. Also situated on this campus is a Community Living Center (CLC), a 120-bed extended care facility, offering subacute, rehabilitation, restorative, palliative, respite and transitional care. In addition, the CLC operates a neurocognitive unit, subacute unit, and a 23-hour bed program in support of post-procedural ambulatory care services.
