Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Podiatry, where you will play a vital role in diagnosing, treating, and managing foot and ankle conditions. You will utilize your advanced clinical skills to improve mobility, alleviate pain, and promote foot health for patients in an outpatient clinic. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments focusing on foot and ankle health, including physical examinations and vital signs. Diagnose and develop treatment plans for conditions such as plantar fasciitis, bunions, diabetic foot ulcers, infections, and trauma-related injuries. Prescribe medications within scope of practice; manage medication administration and follow-up care. Collaborate with healthcare professionals across specialties such as endocrinology, infectious disease care, orthopedics, and physical therapy to optimize patient outcomes. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and coding (CPT, ICD-10). Provide patient education on foot health maintenance, injury prevention, proper footwear, and post-operative care; support telehealth consultations when appropriate. Qualifications Valid Nurse Practitioner license with certification in podiatric medicine or relevant specialty training. Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals with disabilities. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth; familiarity with medical documentation standards. Hands-on experience performing podiatric procedures like suturing, injections (including dermal fillers if applicable), and sterile technique. Knowledge of healthcare diagnosis codes (ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures, and Workers' Compensation law compliance. Critical care experience or hospital medicine background preferred; experience working in outpatient clinics or specialty practices is highly valued. Strong client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on treatment plans and preventive foot care strategies.
