New York Medical & Diagnostic Center is seeking an experienced, patient-focused Podiatrist (DPM) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare practice. This position may be structured as full-time or part-time depending on the candidate. We are especially interested in a podiatrist who is comfortable incorporating advanced, non-surgical, regenerative, and alternative treatment modalities into patient care. The ideal candidate is not only clinically strong, but also an excellent communicator who can educate patients about both insurance-covered and cash-based treatment options when clinically appropriate. Key Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of foot and ankle conditions. Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient's diagnosis, lifestyle, and treatment goals. Provide routine and advanced podiatric care. Perform appropriate office-based procedures and injections. Evaluate and manage conditions involving foot and ankle pain, plantar fasciitis, tendinopathies, neuropathy, arthritis, sports-related conditions, nail disorders, and other podiatric conditions. Educate patients clearly regarding diagnoses, treatment alternatives, expected outcomes, and recommended follow-up care. Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely electronic medical records. Complete clinical documentation efficiently and thoroughly during or shortly after the patient encounter. Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals within our multidisciplinary practice. Advanced & Cash-Based Treatment Modalities We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience with—or a strong interest in providing—services such as: Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) Laser therapy , including treatment options for fungal toenails/onychomycosis Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections Regenerative and biologic treatment options Non-surgical treatment alternatives for chronic musculoskeletal conditions Other evidence-based advanced podiatric technologies and procedures Prior experience with all of these modalities is not necessarily required . However, the candidate must be comfortable learning, discussing, and appropriately recommending advanced treatment options. Cash-Based Services Several of the advanced treatment options offered by the practice may not be covered by insurance and are provided on a self-pay/cash basis .
The ideal candidate should:
Be comfortable discussing self-pay treatment options with patients. Clearly explain the clinical rationale, potential benefits, alternatives, and expectations associated with these services. Be able to recommend appropriate cash-based services without using a high-pressure or sales-oriented approach. Understand that strong patient education and communication are essential when presenting treatment options that may not be covered by insurance. Have prior experience with cash-based medical services, regenerative medicine, or similar elective treatment options, or be willing and comfortable learning this aspect of the practice. What We Are Looking For The successful candidate will be: A skilled and knowledgeable podiatrist with strong clinical judgment. An excellent communicator who develops trust and rapport with patients. Comfortable explaining complex conditions and treatment options in language patients can easily understand. Patient-focused, professional, and personable. Comfortable practicing in a multidisciplinary medical environment. Organized and efficient in managing a patient schedule. Strong with documentation and typing , with the ability to produce comprehensive, accurate, and timely clinical notes. Comfortable using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) system. Interested in incorporating advanced technology and innovative treatment options into traditional podiatric care. Comfortable discussing both insurance-covered and self-pay treatment options when clinically appropriate. Qualifications Doctor of Podiatric Medicine ( DPM ) degree from an accredited institution. Active and unrestricted New York State podiatry license , or eligibility to obtain one. Appropriate board qualification/certification preferred. Current professional liability coverage or eligibility for coverage. DEA registration, if required for the scope of practice. Prior outpatient podiatry experience preferred. Experience with shockwave therapy, laser therapy, PRP, regenerative medicine, or cash-based services is highly desirable but not mandatory for an otherwise strong candidate.
