In accordance with Act 2018-260, Hartselle City Schools posts a notice of vacancy for each vacant personnel position. The notice shall be posted in a conspicuous place at the Central Office for at least 7 calendar days for all non-supervisory positions before the position is to be filled. All vacancies involving jobs which are supervisory, managerial, or otherwise newly created positions shall nevertheless require posting notices of at least fourteen calendar days. SCHOOL PSYCHOMETRIST JOB DESCRIPTION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications:
A Master's degree, or higher, in School Psychometry, School Psychology, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution approved by the Alabama State Department of Education. Valid Alabama Class A or Class AA Professional Educator Certificate in School Psychometry or School Psychology issued by the Alabama State Department of Education. Successful teaching experience preferred. Experience conducting cognitive and behavioral/social assessments in a school setting preferred. Such alternatives or additional qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

Special Education Coordinator Basic Job Description:
The School Psychometrist is responsible for the selection, administration, scoring, and interpretation of individual psychoeducational evaluations of students referred for special education and related services, and for providing data and consultation to assist eligibility teams, teachers, and parents in planning programs that meet students' identified learning, behavioral, and adjustment needs.

10 months, 202 days Job Duties and Tasks for: School Psychometrist Selects, administers, scores, and interprets individual psychoeducational evaluations (cognitive, achievement, and social/behavioral assessments) for students of all age levels referred for special education services. Reviews student records and analyzes information pertinent to assessments. Arranges for prompt testing in accordance with state and federal evaluation timelines. Communicates and coordinates evaluation scheduling with school personnel. Completes comprehensive written reports of evaluation results and communicates findings to parents, teachers, and eligibility teams. Assists in the interpretation of assessment results and their educational implications as part of the IEP/eligibility team. Maintains a log of student referrals and enters evaluation and eligibility information into PowerSchool Special Programs. Serves as a consultant to parents, teachers, administrators, and community agencies regarding student learning, behavior, and mental health needs. Assists in the planning and evaluation of programs to meet identified learning and adjustment needs of students. Establishes rapport and works in a constructive, positive manner with staff and students. Proficiently uses technology to administer required assessments and develop reports. Communicates effectively, in oral and written form. Adheres to all federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, and Board policies regarding evaluation, eligibility, and confidentiality of student records. Maintains confidentiality and ethical standards of professional practice at all times. Attends professional meetings, educational conferences, and training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence. Attends staff meetings and serves on committees as required. Models exemplary personal characteristics and demonstrates a high degree of professionalism. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Superintendent or supervisor may from time to time assign or delegate.
