Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations to determine students' eligibility for special education and related services. Administer, score, and interpret cognitive, academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and adaptive assessments. Chair the Committee on Special Education (CSE)/Individualized Education Program (IEP) team. Develop written evaluation reports with data-based recommendations. Consult with teachers, administrators, parents, and related service providers to support student success. Conduct push-in SEL lessons and other activities that support building and district wide belonging efforts. Support vertical transition between grades and buildings. Provide counseling services for students with social, emotional, behavioral, and academic needs. Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and assist in developing Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs). Monitor student progress and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement evidence-based interventions. Support Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) initiatives. Assist in crisis prevention, intervention, and post-crisis response. Promote positive school climate and student mental health initiatives. Provide professional development and training for staff on behavioral, social-emotional, and mental health topics. Consult with families regarding student learning, behavior, and emotional well-being. Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely records in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations. Ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and applicable state education regulations. Collaborate with community agencies and outside providers when appropriate. Support transition planning for students moving between grade levels or post-secondary settings. Contribute to school improvement efforts by analyzing student data and recommending evidence-based practices Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education or school administration.
