This contract position focuses on conducting thorough school psychology assessments and actively collaborating to support students, teachers, and staff. The role combines traditional school psychologist responsibilities with in-class monitoring and the development of personalized behavioral plans, providing a well-rounded opportunity to create positive change in students' academic and social-emotional lives.
Key Duties:
Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations, interpret assessment findings, and share insights with multidisciplinary teams. Perform Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and develop Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs). Collaborate with colleagues during IEP meetings and contribute to the development of individualized education plans. Provide ongoing guidance and consultation to educators regarding academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports. Design and help implement evidence-based interventions across general and special education environments. Partner in crisis intervention processes to promote a safe and supportive atmosphere. Collect and analyze student data to track progress and inform recommendations.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in School Psychology. Valid New York State School Psychologist Certification. Previous experience working in K-12 school environments is strongly preferred. Proficient in psychological assessment, with strong communication and teamwork skills.
