As a School-Based Therapist, you will provide meaningful behavioral health support to students and families in a familiar and accessible setting. Through strong partnerships with schools, caregivers, and community resources, you will help students overcome challenges, build resilience, and achieve personal and academic success. This role combines clinical expertise with relationship-building, collaboration, and advocacy. The School-Based Therapist delivers assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic services while contributing to a supportive, trauma-informed culture grounded in Pathway's mission, values, and commitment to empowering children and families. Key responsibilities include:
Complete diagnostic assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide individual, family, and group therapy. Monitor client progress and adjust treatment approaches based on clinical needs and outcomes. Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation that meets agency, state and accrediting body standards. Collaborate with essential others to coordinate care and support positive outcomes. Manage caseload, documentation, and quality treatment expectations while maintaining professional and ethical standards. Provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive, person-centered care and incorporate Zero Suicide principles into clinical practice. Demonstrate Pathway's commitment to its

School and Community Collaboration Build collaborative relationships with school personnel, students, families, and community providers to support coordinated care. Communicate with school teams regarding student needs, progress, and service coordination while maintaining confidentiality. Participate in IEP, 504, MTSS, Care Team, and other student support meetings as clinically appropriate. Consult with school staff on trauma-informed strategies, behavioral supports, and student engagement. Engage families as active partners in the treatment process.

School Administrators Teachers and School Personnel Case Managers Community Providers Parents/Guardians Agency Clinical Staff Community Mental Health Partners Work Schedule Primarily follows the assigned school schedule and calendar. Additional hours may be required for family sessions, school meetings, crisis response, trainings, and agency activities. Some travel between schools, homes, and community locations may be required. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field. Current Ohio licensure required (LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC, or equivalent). Minimum of six (6) months experience providing behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and families in school-based, community, or clinical settings. Ability to meet agency credentialing and payer enrollment requirements. Valid Ohio driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Current automobile liability insurance and reliable transportation. Ability to successfully complete required background checks and agency onboarding requirements. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of child and adolescent development, behavioral health diagnoses, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions. Demonstrated competence in trauma-informed care and implementation of Trauma Competence principles. Knowledge and application of Zero Suicide screening, assessment, and intervention practices. Strong diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, and clinical documentation skills. Ability to engage and build therapeutic relationships with youth and families from diverse backgrounds. Experience collaborating with schools and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to manage crisis situations and implement appropriate safety interventions. Strong verbal, written, organizational, and time-management skills. Commitment to cultural responsiveness, equity, inclusion, and person-centered care. Physical and Environmental Requirements Ability to work within school, office, home, and community environments. Ability to travel between assigned service locations. Ability to sit, stand, walk, and utilize technology required for documentation and service delivery. Ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations and maintain professional composure under pressure.
