SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

\nThe Scituate School Department seeks a collaborative, student-centered School Psychologist to provide comprehensive psychological services that promote the academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and mental health success of students. Working as an integral member of the district's multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will collaborate with educators, families, administrators, and community partners to create safe, inclusive, and equitable learning environments where all students can thrive.\nThe School Psychologist will conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations, participate in eligibility and Individualized Education Program (IEP) team meetings, provide consultation to educators and families, and support Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) through data-based decision-making and evidence-based interventions.\nIn addition to assessment and consultation responsibilities, the School Psychologist will provide direct psychological services to students as identified in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including counseling, behavioral interventions, social-emotional support, and other services necessary to support student achievement and well-being.\nThe ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in assessment, consultation, mental health, behavioral supports, crisis response, and systems-level problem solving while contributing to the district's commitment to continuous improvement and student success.\nAssessment and Evaluation\nConduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations using a variety of cognitive, academic, behavioral, adaptive, social-emotional, and developmental assessment tools.\nInterpret evaluation results and prepare clear, legally compliant, and educationally meaningful reports that translate assessment findings into actionable recommendations for families and educational teams.\nParticipate in multidisciplinary evaluations, reevaluations, and eligibility determinations in accordance with IDEA, Section 504, Rhode Island Regulations, and district procedures.\nPresent evaluation findings and educational recommendations to families and educational teams.\nUtilize assessment data to inform instructional planning, interventions, and educational programming.\nAssist in identifying students requiring academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports.\nDirect Psychological Services\nProvide direct psychological services to students as identified in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including individual and small-group counseling, behavioral interventions, consultation, and social-emotional supports.\nDevelop measurable goals and progress-monitoring procedures for psychological services identified within IEPs.\nMonitor student progress and maintain documentation related to direct services and IEP implementation.\nCollaborate with educators and families to promote generalization of skills across educational settings.\nSupport students' social-emotional development, resilience, self-regulation, executive functioning, and school engagement.\nDesign, implement, and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) in collaboration with educators and families to support positive student outcomes.\nConsultation and Student Support\nConsult with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families regarding academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and mental health concerns.\nSupport the implementation of evidence-based academic and behavioral interventions through the district's Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).\nConduct or participate in Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and collaborate with educational teams to develop, implement, and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).\nProvide consultation regarding trauma-informed practices, restorative practices, positive behavior supports, and culturally responsive interventions.\nParticipate in problem-solving teams and school improvement initiatives.\nMental Health and Crisis Response\nSupport school-wide efforts to promote student mental health, wellness, and positive school climate.\nConduct risk assessments and assist with crisis prevention, intervention, and postvention activities in accordance with district protocols.\nProvide consultation regarding anxiety, depression, trauma, executive functioning, emotional regulation, and other behavioral health concerns.\nCollaborate with community agencies and external providers, when appropriate, to support coordinated services.\nServe as an active member of the district and/or school crisis response team by assisting with threat assessments, suicide risk assessments, emotional and behavioral crises, emergency response, and postvention activities in accordance with district protocols.\nCollaboration and Compliance\nParticipate actively in IEP Team meetings, eligibility meetings, Section 504 meetings, MTSS teams, and multidisciplinary planning meetings.\nCollaborate with special educators, classroom teachers, administrators, counselors, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, behavior specialists, nurses, and other related service providers.\nMaintain accurate documentation related to evaluations, direct services, progress monitoring, and special education compliance.\nMaintain ongoing communication with families regarding evaluation results, student progress, and recommendations.\nSupport successful transitions between educational settings.\nProfessional Responsibilities\nMaintain compliance with all federal, state, and district laws, regulations, ethical standards, and professional practices governing school psychology.\nParticipate in ongoing professional learning and demonstrate reflective professional practice.\nMaintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with FERPA, IDEA, and applicable laws.\nSupport district initiatives related to MTSS, inclusion, curriculum, instruction, mental health, assessment, and continuous improvement.\nCollaborate as an active member of Professional Learning Communities and district leadership teams, as appropriate.\nPerform other duties as assigned by the
