POSITION SUMMARY

Peak Behavioral Services is seeking a School Psychology Intern to join our team and grow into the full role of a school psychologist while completing a supervised, paid internship in and around Rock Springs and Green River, Wyoming (with mileage/travel reimbursement for travel outside the primary service area). This is a hands-on, mentored internship hosted as a school district assignment, with direct supervision from an experienced Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) and coordination with the intern's university program and the participating district. The intern will do far more than testing — alongside psychoeducational evaluations, they will conduct functional behavior assessments, help design behavior support plans (BSPs), support multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), consult with school teams, and collaborate with our BCBAs and behavioral-health clinicians. This is an ideal fit for someone who wants broad, real-world experience and genuine support from a team that celebrates its people.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Conduct psychoeducational evaluations and reevaluations under the supervision of the NCSP supervisor. Administer, score, and interpret standardized cognitive, academic, behavioral, and social-emotional assessments. Complete observations, interviews, record reviews, and other assessment activities. Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and help develop behavior support/intervention plans (BSPs/BIPs) under supervision. Assist with eligibility determinations and multidisciplinary evaluations. Write clear, useful, and well-organized psychological and educational reports. Participate in IEP, evaluation, eligibility, and problem-solving meetings. Consult with teachers, parents, administrators, and other school professionals. Provide behavioral, academic, and social-emotional consultation and intervention support. Support schools with MTSS, tiered behavioral supports, data-based decision-making, and student problem-solving. Collaborate with Peak's BCBAs and behavioral-health team to learn how school-based and clinical services connect (interdisciplinary learning and observation, not direct ABA service delivery). Help build and improve the systems behind great services — data tracking, progress monitoring, and program organization. Contribute to a supportive, feedback-rich team culture (we aim for at least 5 positives to every 1 corrective). Provide services in Rock Springs, Green River, and surrounding communities, with occasional travel to other Wyoming school districts. Participate in regular individual supervision and professional development, and maintain client confidentiality at all times.

REQUIREMENTS

Currently enrolled in an accredited school psychology graduate program (NASP-approved program preferred). Eligible to complete a formal school psychology internship. Eligible for the appropriate Wyoming PTSB Internship Permit. Wyoming's permit requires proof of enrollment in an internship program, transcripts, and verification from the participating district that the internship assignment and supervision are in place. Strong interest in working with children, families, and school teams. Strong communication, organization, and report-writing skills. A car, valid driver's license, and reliable transportation, with willingness to travel to partner schools as needed. Flexible, independent, and collaborative, with a genuine desire to learn.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Developing fluency in administering, scoring, and interpreting standardized assessments. Clear, professional written and verbal communication, including strong report-writing skills. Accepts and applies constructive feedback and continually develops knowledge accordingly. Effective time management and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with students, families, co-workers, supervisors, and community members. Commitment to ethics and confidentiality, adhering to HIPAA, FERPA, and the applicable professional codes (NASP/APA). Comfort with technology and data tools for assessment, documentation, and progress monitoring. A team-first, growth-minded attitude, and a professional appearance and demeanor.

BASIC & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be physically present at assigned job locations, which may include school, clinic, home, and community placements. Must be able to administer assessments, which may require sitting, standing, and working at a table or on the floor for extended periods of time. Must have manual dexterity to perform computer and electronic-device functions for assessment, data collection, and reporting. Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication and to read and comprehend written communication (computer, electronic, and paper means). Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different job sites within the greater Southwest Wyoming area (Rock Springs, Green River, and surrounding communities).

EXPERIENCE

Preferred:

Prior practicum or field experience in assessment, consultation, and/or behavioral intervention within a school or clinical setting.

EDUCATION

Required:

Current enrollment in an accredited (NASP-approved preferred) school psychology graduate program, with foundational coursework and practicum experience completed and eligibility to begin the internship year.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

Internship/Clinical Supervisor:

Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP), coordinated with the intern's university program and the participating school district. The internship is hosted as a district assignment; Peak serves as the supervising provider and coordinates supervision to meet applicable PTSB and university program requirements, including the required internship hours and competencies (with school-setting hours as required for national certification).

RELATED TRAINING

Responsible for completing and maintaining all required certifications and trainings once placed, including but not limited to background checks, HIPAA/confidentiality training, assessment-tool and documentation training, and other company in-services.

Pay:

$25.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 30.0 per week
