1 Description American Traveler seeks a Registered Nurse for a Radiation Oncology outpatient clinic requiring MA RN license, 1+ year of documented radiation oncology experience, and Epic charting proficiency. Details Ambulatory oncology clinic setting Radiation Oncology unit specializing in external beam radiation therapy Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM) Monday through Friday schedule 26-week contract length Uses Epic for electronic charting Requirements Active MA RN license required (license required if applicable) Current BLS certification required OCN certification preferred Minimum 1 year of experience required Documented Radiation Oncology experience required Prior Epic charting experience required Skilled in oncologic emergency management including tumor lysis syndrome, hemorrhage, increased intracranial pressure, and spinal cord compression Experience with symptom management for oncology patients including nausea/vomiting, dysphagia, and neuropathy Knowledge of external beam radiation therapy, IGRT, IMRT, and 3D-CRT Skilled in radiation safety precautions and patient assessment Experience with peripheral IV starts and infusion therapy Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher Additional Information Provide direct patient care in an outpatient radiation oncology setting Monitor patients for oncologic emergencies and manage treatment-related symptoms Perform patient assessments including skin integrity, nutritional status, and oral cavity checks Administer IV therapy and infusions as needed Notify physicians promptly of changes in patient status Utilize isolation precautions and appropriate PPE Facility requires completion of a pass/fail EKG test and a pass/fail medication exam during orientation RNs are given one attempt to pass required testing; failure to pass results in cancellation from the assignment Additional compliance modules required pre-start and during orientation, with annual completion also required First-time travelers will be considered if they have radiation oncology experience Up to 1 week of RTO allowed during the contract; no RTO permitted in the first week Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be available to work all 7 days as scheduled Local candidates accepted within a 200-mile radius at the same bill rate Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system before reapplying
